Frequently Asked Questions for night out on the square vendors

When is the deadline to register and pay to be involved with PRIDENTON’s A Night OUT?

The deadline is Friday, May 24th at 5pm to fill out and submit the vendor form, as well as submit payment by clicking the button titled “Pay Here” above the vendor form. The Night OUT page includes details of the event, the application fee, and the vendor form.

What time is set up and where do we check in?

We ask vendors to arrive at 4:30pm to begin the set-up process for the event to start at 6pm. Upon arrival you will go to the vendor check in table which will be located in the loading area on the east side of the Civic Center. From there, a volunteer will show you your spot for the event.

What do we need to bring if we are a table/booth?

As a vendor you are being asked to bring whatever you need to operate your booth. Bring your items to sell, things to giveaway, materials about your business/organization, etc. The Civic Center will have tables (8ft) and folding chairs (2 per booth) for use but feel free to bring chairs that best suit your needs. We are allowing tents (10x10 max).We do ask that if you bring a tent that you also bring tent weights, as we cannot put stakes in the ground. When setting up, please make sure that your booth and materials are accessible for those with mobility aids to approach. Do not block doorways or pathways.

Are masks required for the event? Where are the restrooms for vendors?

PRIDENTON asks that participants to consider wearing face masks, getting vaccinated, getting tested, or staying home if you’re feeling sick to prevent the spread of COVID strains and other illnesses. This event is both indoor and outdoors. Restrooms are on the first floor on the south side of the rotunda.

We asked for guidance on decorations on our application. Where do we find that?

View photos on our website and social media of past Night OUT events for decoration ideas. Some examples include painting windows with affirming language, rainbows, or PRIDENTON Logo. Other businesses had giant blow-up unicorns, streamers, balloons, photo booths, art displays, koozies, buttons, stickers, beads, candy, condoms, etc.

Our theme this year is "School’s OUT"! If you use the pride flag, try to use the "Progress" or "Philadelphia" pride flags. Consider using Trans pride flag colors. This community in particular has been under attack by Texas legislators and could use all the support. Please stay away from any appropriative giveaways like paper fans or leis. Ultimately, do what works best for your space and your business. It is a powerful sight to see Denton lit up with pride.

Where do we park?

The event is being held at the Denton Civic Center which has free parking all around it, as well as off all main streets leading off of The Square proper. There are also a number of paid lots, so be mindful to check signage if you’re not familiar with Downtown Denton. The Denton Main Street Association has a handy parking guide on their website.

What if we need to unload our belongings before parking?

If you need to unload your belongings before parking your vehicles there is a loading/unloading zone on the east side of the Civic Center (parallel to Bell Ave.) that you may turn your hazards on, unload your equipment, and then find parking.

What should vendors do if they are encountering protestors or agitators at their booths?

PRIDENTON asks that you DO NOT engage with these individuals. We have a team of volunteers who will be our “safety/security” team that is prepared to handle the situation, and we will be giving more details about how to find these folks in a separate message. Because we have rented the entire Civic Center for the event, we also were required to hire security, law enforcement, which our “safety/security” team will also be working with in the event that an agitator needs to be removed.
